Serenbe: Graham
John Graham’s water use was low enough before this project that he wonders if he will notice any impact, and he is eager to see the results.
An arts consultant, his firm oversees cultural planning for communities, such as plans for performing arts centers. He manages the Serenbe Institute which organizes the cultural activities for this thriving arts community.
John rented a home in Serenbe for one year before purchasing his current home in 2006. He purchased it while under construction but had a hand in selecting fixtures and finishes. He was especially focused on fixtures that were appealing from a design perspective. In his master bath, he had a large bathtub taken out in lieu of a larger shower, knowing he would not use the tub often. John is mindful of conserving water and proud of his minimal impact, but says that in life there’s always a balance.
While he has cut back water use in many ways, such as not letting faucets run and only running full loads in the washer and dishwasher, he still enjoys his long showers in his custom bathroom and has no plans to cut back any time soon.

Hey, There can be just a shower, just a bathtub or both; and often both plumbing fixtures are combined in the bathtub. I hope you have a great day!
